Today we started out fairly early and made the 1 1/2 hour trekk to the Great Wall. All of the kids had so much fun. We went to the place where you can take a chair lift up and when ready you can ride a toboggan down. We walked as far as you could in one direction on the wall. Last year when Alex and I were there we walked on this same portion of the wall only we walked as far as you could in the other direction. Many, many uneven steps...some very steep climbs...through some guard houses...and back again. Fortunately, it was not hot today. Unfortunately, it was very hazy so we didn't get many good pictures. Oh well, we can always buy the picture book...we really were there. The toboggan ride down was really fun for all the kids, especially Ellie. However, there was a lady in front of us who was going really slow...it was a bummer...we all wanted to go really fast.
The rest of the afternoon we spend here at Hope Foster Home playing with the kids and loving on the Hill's. The whole family has loved being here. This particular foster home is for kids up to five years old who need specific surgeries in order to thrive. We have had such a good time playing with all the kids...a few of them were here last summer when Alex and I were here. It was great seeing how they have grown.
Tonight we are just hanging out watching movies and getting ready for the long plane ride home. This has been an incredible two plus weeks....but we are all so ready to be home.
A huge thank you to all of you who have been praying for us. God has indeed been so good to our family. We are so loved by many and cannot wait to see you all, give lots of hugs, tell lots of stories and have you all meet our new daughter.
...Until Monday night in Nashville (oh about 10:45 pm...yuck)....Good bye from China!
