Where we are in the process...

The paperwork has been gathered. The fingerprints have been done. The homestudy has been completed. NOW WE WAIT... What do we wait for? All homestudies must go to US Immigration before any paperwork can be sent to China. Currently we are waiting on our I171H from Immigration. Once we recieve that piece of paper (it basically says to the Chinese gov't that the US deems us suitable parents to adopt a child), we can then have all of our paperwork that goes to China (called a dossier) authenticated, certified and sent to the Chinese Embasssy for their official red stamp. THEN our dossier can be sent to China. What next... Once our paperwork is in China, it has to be matched up with the initial paperwork that was sent and with Ellie's file. Our prayer is that these three sets of documents find there way to each other very quickly. Once paperwork is together, it is processed and we are sent a Letter of Seeking Confirmation. About two weeks later we are sent travel approval. Only after all of this can we make travel arrangements to fly to China to get Ellie. How long will this all take? We don't know! We are praying to receive our 171H sometime within the next week or two. I would love to have all of our dossier in China by the end of Feb. Once our paperwork is in China, it has been taking 8-12 weeks to get approval, and then about 8 more weeks before we can travel. SO... the soonest we could travel would be June. BUT it obviously could be much later than that. The Olympics begin on Aug 8, if we cannot travel by the first of July we may have to wait until the Olympics are over. Flights will be very hard to get and very expensive.

Things to pray for...
1) please pray for Ellie, she has been in the orphanage her whole life
Pray that the transition to our home would be smooth and that God is preparing her for that even now
2) pray for very speedy paperwork processing
3) pray for me specifically as I try to get paperwork processed, that I remember GOD has perfect timing and I can only do so much, then it is in God's hands, His timing is perfect!!!
